PDF problem

cannot see chinese characters, and fonts from "WingDings" in the pdf
generated by the Reportingservice...
what is the problem?the pdf writer in the ReportingServer?, how to solve?
thanks in advance.I also have the same problem when I try to use some symbols
with some specific symbols Font Substitution takes place while exporting to
PDF.

PDF FORMAT

I am trying to use couple of PDF librararies to do some post processing on the PDF generated by reproting services but all the tools i have tried so far are unable to open PDFs generated by RS - however other PDF (which are not generated by RS) can be opened normally programatically. RS generated PDF can however be viewed using acrobat reader...really strange - has anyone run into this problem - what is so specific about RS generated PDFs?Hey, try thi

Anyway, you may wish to try this...
Rename one of those pdf's to .TXT, then open w/Notepad and remove everything
after the EOF.
Then save, rename to .PDF and retry to open.
I have the same problem rendering a report from .Net web page w/param text and
cmd buttons.

to the PDF file to be off by one byte. This doesn't impact Acrobat because
Acrobat automatically detects this situation and autorepairs the file, but
other tools may not be that smart. We have fixed this bug, and the fix will
be available in beta 3 of SQL Server 2005.

Password hashes for SQL 7.0 & 2000

The password hashes generated by pwdencrypt() for SQL7.0 & SQL2000 are
different. The password hash generated for SQL 2000 stores both the actual
passsword & it's upper case version (David Litchfield's article on cracking
SQL passwords). But the passwor hash for SQL 7.0 is of 16 bytes only. I
wanted to use the pwdencrypt() to generate the password hashes but want to
verify the values without sending the 'pwdcompare()' query to server. I
could do it for SQL 2000 but the SQL 7.0 hashes seems to be different.

Ajey.Those undocumented xp shouldn't be used in production. They're not supported
and subject to change by MS without notice (which has been changed in the
past). If you're looking a way to hash your password, take a look at this
udf (courtesy of Steve Kass).
